Wedding Day

Tongan Wedding

May 8, 2021 we were sealed for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles Temple.

Our wedding day was not what I had imagined it would be. Growing up I always wanted the big fancy wedding dress and massive party to celebrate the day with all my friends and family. Due to covid there was no fancy wedding dress, just my simple temple dress. There was no big wedding reception, just a small luncheon at my parent’s home. Despite things not being how I originally planned, our wedding day was so special.

With all the changes due to covid we had to arrive and leave in our temple clothes. Pila’s family brought Tongan mats and leis which really made the day feel so special. I’m so grateful for all the friends and family who made us feel so loved even from afar.

More pictures and details to come!

Hot Pink Workout Sports Bra: Joy Lab | Hot Pink Workout Pants: Joy Lab | Hot Pink Shaker Bottle: Hyda Cup | Black Workout Jacket: 90 Degree

What’s your favorite type of workout? My number one suggestion is always: FIND WHAT WORKOUT WORKS FOR YOU!

I’m all about finding a workout that doesn’t feel like a workout! I was anti group fitness until I found High Fitness. This class made me forget I was working out. Now don’t let that statement fool you. It is a killer workout and I leave drenched every time, but I’m having fun and actually enjoying it. “Think Old School Aerobics made Modern. Cardio and toning meets Jane Fonda with a side of Richard Simmons. You will have a blast, see real results both physically and mentally, and leave this class wanting more because it’s so much fun!” One of my favorite things about High Fitness is that in any class you’ll find participants of all ages, sizes, shapes, ethnicities all coming to let loose and have fun. I fell in love with High Fitness so much that I became an instructor and once our gym is back open for classes in LA, I can’t wait to start teaching again! High Fitness has an app where they have live classes taught everyday with multiple classes offered! They are amazing classes and if you’re curious about High Fitness, this is the perfect way to try it out from the comfort of your home! Also they have the cutest apparel, use code: TIA for a discount!

I also fell in love with Upbeat Barre!! I was looking for another format to help on my days off from High Fitness and that’s when I fell in love with Barre. I’ve taken other barre classes and just didn’t like it. They were too ballet inspired and the terminology and form was just not right for me. When I found upbeat barre I immediately fell in love when the first class I took said you could use “athletic” arms instead of the more ballet inspired arm movements. After my first class I was hooked! The creators of format are just gems. They are so full of energy, fun and inspiring. I’ve only taken their live classes through their online subscription and am a total fan. If you can’t get to a gym that teaches it, they offer online subscriptions and have daily classes that they stream.

Have you heard of either? If not, you need to try them! They both offer live classes so you can do them from the comfort of your home!

When I first moved to Idaho for school I had a college roommate teach me how to “tease” my hair for extra volume. I had always seen and heard of the Utah poof growing up and visiting family there. I loved the way it looked but never really tried it until college. When I started teasing my hair I loved the volume that it added, especially since my hair is naturally long and flat. I would have to use a ton of hair spray and tease my roots for so long because by the end of the day my hair would fall due to the weight of my long hair. When teasing my hair I loved the look but it was a nightmare to brush out at the end of the day. For a long time I stopped teasing my hair because I knew it wasn’t healthy for it.

Recently I started teasing my hair again because it was starting to look flat. After a few times of struggling to brush my hair out I was over it. That’s when I knew I needed to find another solution for volume. I was on the hunt and ended up finding this textured iron. It gives lasting volume and is so much easier to use when I want that extra volume. I’ve used it for two weeks now and the volume truly lasts! I’ve gone to sleep and woke up the next morning and my hair still had lasting volume.

The before and after using the Voloom is so drastic! I love the results and highly recommend this product. This is not a paid post, I found this on my own and paid for it with my own money. I think it’s worth every penny!

What You Need To Know about Seint Makeup

Over the past month I’ve been able share more about Seint makeup and how much I truly love it. Today I wanted to do a post dedicated to what you need to know about Seint makeup and how to apply it!

So first off what is the IIID foundation that makes up Seint? It is made up of highlight, contour, lip and cheek and illuminator.

Highlight color should be lighter than your natural skin tone. The yellow turns creamy on the skin and gives you a “lit from within” glow! With the small end of our hac brush you apply this shade to the bridge of the nose, beneath your eyes and down the side of the nose in a pie piece shape, between your brows, on the chin and along the jawline.

Contour color should be deeper than your natural skin tone. It creates and accentuates the “shadows” on your face, giving dimension and a gorgeous sculpt to your face! Using the large end of the HAC brush apply the contour color round the edges of your face, down the neck, the side of your nose and beneath your cheekbones.

Lip and cheek color has a rosy tone which brings out your eyes, makes the face appear more youthful and warms your complexion. You apply this with a brush, sponge or fingertip to the apples of your cheeks and to the center of your lips.

Finally you finish with an illuminator which is a gorgeous shimmery cream! It gives the face a candlelit dewiness and perfects your complexion. Apply with fingertip to the top of your cheekbones, the bow of your lip and beneath the arch of your brow.

So rather than applying layers of makeup, the highlight, contour, lip and cheek get placed strategically on the face so it blends together to create one gorgeous layer of makeup. I was intimidated at first with this method but once I got the hang of it, I’ll never be able to go back to my old makeup routine!

If you are interested in trying out this amazing makeup, let me help get you color matched! There is a simple form I have set up that I can get you color matched and on your way to loving Seint makeup! You can get color matched here: Color match me

Disneyland Churros At Home

My mouth is literally watering as I write this blog post! I made this short video to show you how to make Disneyland churros at home with your air fryer! When I heard that you could buy the same brand of churro’s that Disneyland sells I was on the hunt. During quarantine I could not find these churros anywhere. They were either sold out of non existent. I went to smart and final and just decided to walk past the frozen food section and see if they had them, and there was that beautiful box of churros!

I got home and instantly had to try them out for myself and see if they truly tasted like Disneyland churros. The instructions on the box tell you to bake them in the oven at 400 degrees for 4 minutes. Instead of my oven I opted for my Ninja Foodi! I have been obsessed with using my air fryer lately so I figured why not try the churros out. I had to cut the churros in half in order to fit in the Ninja Foodi and put it on 400 degrees and cooked them for 6 minutes until they were golden brown. Out of the air fryer they went into the cinnamon sugar mix that came in the box.

The first bite of that churro, I was in heaven! They really do taste just like Disneyland churros. They are warm, crispy and doing them at home you’re able to truly coat them in tons of cinnamon and sugar. I have already made two batches because they are just irresistible.

If you get your hands on them, send me a picture of video of your at home Disneyland churro! Happy eating.

5 Minute Makeup Routine – Seint Beauty

In June one of my best girlfriends who was also my college roommate turned me onto a new makeup line. Chelsie has been with the company for a few years now and I had seen her post about the makeup in the past and was always curious. Finally I messaged her and asked if the cream formula was really as easy as she made it look and if it would work with my overly oily skin. Chelsie being the sweetheart that she is sent me an order full of all the goodies to try out.

Now at first I was super intimated and had no idea what I was doing. I was only used to typical liquid foundation and then setting everything with powders. My old routine looked so cakey and just felt extremely heavy on my face so I was up for a change. Let’s also keep in mind this was mid quarantine in Los Angeles, so I hadn’t worn makeup in months! It took me a couple weeks of watching tutorials, trial and error and then I finally found a routine that worked for my skin. Once I found my routine, let me tell you, this makeup really can be applied in 5 minutes! I thought it was a gimmick and theres no way an entire face of makeup can be completed in 5-10 minutes. I was wrong!

I love the HAC method that is taught with Seint beauty. Instead of layering foundation, contour, bronzer and powder on top of each other for a very thick and cakey look, the HAC method teaches you to apply the different shades only where they are needed and not on top of each other. These creams are so easy to blend together and are perfect for a light everyday coverage or can definitely be built up for a full glam face. When I would go into the office before I rarely wore makeup. Every now and then when we had meetings with outside people I’d throw on makeup but my old routine just took long and too much effort to do everyday. Thanks to Seint, I wear makeup to work everyday because it’s so easy and fast. I just feel better about myself when I have a little makeup on.

I never thought in a million years that I would post a makeup less selfie, but here I am! There is no filter on the after picture. This makeup really lightens in the places you want and the contour shade gives you that filter like look. I truly love seeing how natural my “after picture” looks. I don’t feel like I’m wearing a ton of layers of makeup, but rather my skin is just evened out and can breathe.

If you’ve been keeping up with me on Instagram, you see all the tutorials I’ve been posting! I’ve been having so much fun showing you ladies how easy and effective this cream formula truly is. Whether you’re a busy stay at home mom, or someone who goes into an office but is short on time in the morning. Seint beauty is for you! This amazing makeup will save you time and money! Each tin is only $14, so when you’re done all you have to do is buy the color you ran out of. My old foundation cost $65 and I had to buy two shades just to mix and make my perfect shade. This makeup line is super affordable for any budget.

Perk Energy – Do Work BCAAs

If you follow me on Instagram then you know I have a new obsession! A friend turned me onto Perk Energy and I can’t get enough. The first product I purchased was their do work BCAAs. I’ve tried different BCAAs in the past and after the first sip I would have to stop because it was too bitter. I’ve never been able to find a BCAAs that tasted good and have multiple full canisters to show for it. When I ordered their raspberry vanilla creme and tropical vanilla creme I was hopeful because so many girls online were raving about them.

I wish I would have filmed me tasting the raspberry vanilla creme for the first time because it would have made for the best commercial! I was shocked that these were BCAAs because they tasted too good. My fiancee was even shocked by my reaction that he asked to try it. My fiancee loved it too and was asking for more. For those who may not know what BCAAs are I made a quick graphic that shows the benefits.

You can order the full size canister or they come in these amazing single pack serving containers. I bought the canister for home and the single servings to throw in my workout bag. They also have other amazing products like their perk energy and perk chill! If you’re curious and don’t want to invest in a full canister they also have sample packs so you can try them out. But trust me, after you try the samples you’ll be ordering the canister! I’ll be doing a post about my other favorite perk products soon!!

Zoom Youth Activity – See But Not Hear

Back with another fun zoom youth activity – See But Not Hear!

We played this on zoom and the kids had a blast. Not only was it fun and competitive but gave us a night full of laughs. We have been combining for mutual each week so we played this game in teams, Young Women versus Young Men. Let me just say, my Young Women are amazing and won!

Get my See But Not Hear document on my etsy shop: Our Rising Generation

Here’s how to play:
1. Split everyone into teams.
2. For each round one person will be given words from the list and will have 1 minute to mouth as many words as their team can guess.
3. The person who is mouthing the words is put on mute while everyone else’s mic is on so you can hear their guesses. Once the team guessed the correct word then I yelled correct and they moved onto the next word.
4. I gave them 3 (1 point) and 2 (2 point) words / phrases at a time. They had to complete them in order and could not move on until they were finished. I sent word by word in the Zoom chat. This allowed me to save words/ phrases that weren’t actually used.

You can play this game in person as well. Those guessing the words will need headphones and music played loudly so they can’t hear the person mouthing the words.

At Home Zoom Mutual

For the over a month I’ve held at home zoom mutual for my youth. One night my young women’s class president texted me and said that she missed having mutual and wondered if we could try having one via zoom. I immediately thought it was such a good idea and was excited to start. The majority of our youth come from families with both Young Women and Young Men and my fiance is the Young Men’s advisor, so we decided to combine for each zoom mutual. At first we went back and forth on ideas and had a hard time figuring out what activities and games would work and what wouldn’t. It was a little rocky at first, with poor connections but we had 12 kids sign on for the first night and at the end of the day they had a blast. After the first zoom mutual I knew we had to continue on. I’ve been posting pictures and video via my Instagram and have been getting tons of DM’s asking me what activities I’ve done and how I made them work. Below are the fun activities I’ve done and how I made them work. We always start mutual with opening exercises like normal and have one youth prepare a spiritual thought. After opening exercises we jump into the fun game or activity. Below are a few to help get you started!

I had each youth text me 10 fun facts about them. Some easy facts that everyone would know and some harder to test their skills.

Example: I have a pet dog names Makai, My favorite sport is basketball etc. There were funny facts and their secret hobbies, places they wanted to serve a mission, dreams and ambitions.

I took everyone’s 10 facts and put them into an excel grid. I would read 10 facts off at a time and the kids would write down their answers. After each round I would give the answers and we would see who won each round. This activity was not only fun and competitive, but we also got to learn more about each of our youth. We did 4 rounds which took about 50 minutes.

This was by far the most fun activity! I created a list of items and one by one I would call them out. The kids had to leave their phone or computer in one location and run to find items and bring them back. The first kid back received two points and each kid would receive one point if they were able to find the item. The kids ran around their houses which got them up and moving and we had tons of laughs along the way. One of the parents sent me a video of her three kids sprinting around in the house trying to find items before the others. It was amazing and made for some great memories. You can purchase my entire at home scavenger hunt document on my etsy page: Our Rising Generation

One of our young men came up with the idea of playing mafia. At first I wasn’t sure how to make this work but I figured it out! To make this work you’d need to have all the youth’s phone numbers. I had one of my counselors and her son be the narrators of the game. She texted all of the young women their roles and he texted all the young men their roles in the game (mafia, nurse, detective, towns people). Once we got our assignments we gave a thumbs up since everyone was muted but the narrators. The narrators would then say open your eyes to the mafia and decide who to kill. They would then start a group chat with the mafia players and they would decide who to kill via text. Once the narrators had the answer the mafia closed their eyes. Then for the nurse and detective they did the same thing, they had them text their answer for who they wanted to save and who they thought were mafia. When everyone woke up we unmuted everyone while the narrators told the story and discussed who they thought were the mafia. The first round took about 30 minutes since some people were getting used to texting their answers but the second round went faster and the kids even asked to stay on past the hour to finish because they were having so much fun.

I taught a quick lesson on obedience and tied it in with a fun game of Simon says. Now I’m not as creative as my fiance so I let him handle the Simon says game. He did Simon says in a scenario format that told a story. Playing with youth is a lot harder than primary kids! They are quick and competitive, but have fun and let the kids act silly!

I hope this helps all of you youth leaders! I’ll do a part two soon with the other games we’ve played!

Surprise Quarantine Proposal

Saturday was a Saturday I’ll never forget. My boyfriend pulled off a surprise quarantine proposal! Saturday started off like any regular weekend but it definitely had a surprise ending. That afternoon I got ready for what I thought was church leadership meeting at my Bishop’s house. My mom was scheduled to meet with the Bishop right before me, so I saw her on the way out. My mom said the changes were crazy and nothing would be the same after today. Little did I know that she was in on the whole surprise proposal.

I walked nervously into my Bishop’s living room and sat anxiously. On the screen was a holding page for the “leadership meeting”. After some technical difficulty the training video began but it was not what I had imagined! My boyfriend popped up on screen and I just started to cry. He made a slide show and had videos from my family and closest friends. I ugly cried for 10 minutes straight! At the end he told me to wipe away the tears and walk outside.

When I opened the door I cried even more when I saw my family outside waiting. Don’t worry we kept it under 10 people and it was very intimate. Pila stood in the middle of the cutest heart made of roses with a huge bouquet of roses for me. He got down on one knee and popped the question! Of course I said yes!! This surprise quarantine proposal was so sweet and caught me completely off guard. After it all happened I laughed at how I didn’t really do my makeup, picked a dress I wear a ton and wore sandals since I knew I’d have to take off my shoes inside the house. We all laughed at how clueless I was, but I’m so thankful for such a sweet man and all his hard work on this proposal.

We are so excited to get married and anxious to see what our future holds! Since we’re still in quarantine mode here in Los Angeles, we won’t be setting a wedding date until we see how things shape out. Stay tuned for the proposal video and tons of wedding planning to come.
