Perk Energy – Do Work BCAAs

If you follow me on Instagram then you know I have a new obsession! A friend turned me onto Perk Energy and I can’t get enough. The first product I purchased was their do work BCAAs. I’ve tried different BCAAs in the past and after the first sip I would have to stop because it was too bitter. I’ve never been able to find a BCAAs that tasted good and have multiple full canisters to show for it. When I ordered their raspberry vanilla creme and tropical vanilla creme I was hopeful because so many girls online were raving about them.

I wish I would have filmed me tasting the raspberry vanilla creme for the first time because it would have made for the best commercial! I was shocked that these were BCAAs because they tasted too good. My fiancee was even shocked by my reaction that he asked to try it. My fiancee loved it too and was asking for more. For those who may not know what BCAAs are I made a quick graphic that shows the benefits.

You can order the full size canister or they come in these amazing single pack serving containers. I bought the canister for home and the single servings to throw in my workout bag. They also have other amazing products like their perk energy and perk chill! If you’re curious and don’t want to invest in a full canister they also have sample packs so you can try them out. But trust me, after you try the samples you’ll be ordering the canister! I’ll be doing a post about my other favorite perk products soon!!

Zoom Youth Activity – See But Not Hear

Back with another fun zoom youth activity – See But Not Hear!

We played this on zoom and the kids had a blast. Not only was it fun and competitive but gave us a night full of laughs. We have been combining for mutual each week so we played this game in teams, Young Women versus Young Men. Let me just say, my Young Women are amazing and won!

Get my See But Not Hear document on my etsy shop: Our Rising Generation

Here’s how to play:
1. Split everyone into teams.
2. For each round one person will be given words from the list and will have 1 minute to mouth as many words as their team can guess.
3. The person who is mouthing the words is put on mute while everyone else’s mic is on so you can hear their guesses. Once the team guessed the correct word then I yelled correct and they moved onto the next word.
4. I gave them 3 (1 point) and 2 (2 point) words / phrases at a time. They had to complete them in order and could not move on until they were finished. I sent word by word in the Zoom chat. This allowed me to save words/ phrases that weren’t actually used.

You can play this game in person as well. Those guessing the words will need headphones and music played loudly so they can’t hear the person mouthing the words.

At Home Zoom Mutual

For the over a month I’ve held at home zoom mutual for my youth. One night my young women’s class president texted me and said that she missed having mutual and wondered if we could try having one via zoom. I immediately thought it was such a good idea and was excited to start. The majority of our youth come from families with both Young Women and Young Men and my fiance is the Young Men’s advisor, so we decided to combine for each zoom mutual. At first we went back and forth on ideas and had a hard time figuring out what activities and games would work and what wouldn’t. It was a little rocky at first, with poor connections but we had 12 kids sign on for the first night and at the end of the day they had a blast. After the first zoom mutual I knew we had to continue on. I’ve been posting pictures and video via my Instagram and have been getting tons of DM’s asking me what activities I’ve done and how I made them work. Below are the fun activities I’ve done and how I made them work. We always start mutual with opening exercises like normal and have one youth prepare a spiritual thought. After opening exercises we jump into the fun game or activity. Below are a few to help get you started!

I had each youth text me 10 fun facts about them. Some easy facts that everyone would know and some harder to test their skills.

Example: I have a pet dog names Makai, My favorite sport is basketball etc. There were funny facts and their secret hobbies, places they wanted to serve a mission, dreams and ambitions.

I took everyone’s 10 facts and put them into an excel grid. I would read 10 facts off at a time and the kids would write down their answers. After each round I would give the answers and we would see who won each round. This activity was not only fun and competitive, but we also got to learn more about each of our youth. We did 4 rounds which took about 50 minutes.

This was by far the most fun activity! I created a list of items and one by one I would call them out. The kids had to leave their phone or computer in one location and run to find items and bring them back. The first kid back received two points and each kid would receive one point if they were able to find the item. The kids ran around their houses which got them up and moving and we had tons of laughs along the way. One of the parents sent me a video of her three kids sprinting around in the house trying to find items before the others. It was amazing and made for some great memories. You can purchase my entire at home scavenger hunt document on my etsy page: Our Rising Generation

One of our young men came up with the idea of playing mafia. At first I wasn’t sure how to make this work but I figured it out! To make this work you’d need to have all the youth’s phone numbers. I had one of my counselors and her son be the narrators of the game. She texted all of the young women their roles and he texted all the young men their roles in the game (mafia, nurse, detective, towns people). Once we got our assignments we gave a thumbs up since everyone was muted but the narrators. The narrators would then say open your eyes to the mafia and decide who to kill. They would then start a group chat with the mafia players and they would decide who to kill via text. Once the narrators had the answer the mafia closed their eyes. Then for the nurse and detective they did the same thing, they had them text their answer for who they wanted to save and who they thought were mafia. When everyone woke up we unmuted everyone while the narrators told the story and discussed who they thought were the mafia. The first round took about 30 minutes since some people were getting used to texting their answers but the second round went faster and the kids even asked to stay on past the hour to finish because they were having so much fun.

I taught a quick lesson on obedience and tied it in with a fun game of Simon says. Now I’m not as creative as my fiance so I let him handle the Simon says game. He did Simon says in a scenario format that told a story. Playing with youth is a lot harder than primary kids! They are quick and competitive, but have fun and let the kids act silly!

I hope this helps all of you youth leaders! I’ll do a part two soon with the other games we’ve played!

Surprise Quarantine Proposal

Saturday was a Saturday I’ll never forget. My boyfriend pulled off a surprise quarantine proposal! Saturday started off like any regular weekend but it definitely had a surprise ending. That afternoon I got ready for what I thought was church leadership meeting at my Bishop’s house. My mom was scheduled to meet with the Bishop right before me, so I saw her on the way out. My mom said the changes were crazy and nothing would be the same after today. Little did I know that she was in on the whole surprise proposal.

I walked nervously into my Bishop’s living room and sat anxiously. On the screen was a holding page for the “leadership meeting”. After some technical difficulty the training video began but it was not what I had imagined! My boyfriend popped up on screen and I just started to cry. He made a slide show and had videos from my family and closest friends. I ugly cried for 10 minutes straight! At the end he told me to wipe away the tears and walk outside.

When I opened the door I cried even more when I saw my family outside waiting. Don’t worry we kept it under 10 people and it was very intimate. Pila stood in the middle of the cutest heart made of roses with a huge bouquet of roses for me. He got down on one knee and popped the question! Of course I said yes!! This surprise quarantine proposal was so sweet and caught me completely off guard. After it all happened I laughed at how I didn’t really do my makeup, picked a dress I wear a ton and wore sandals since I knew I’d have to take off my shoes inside the house. We all laughed at how clueless I was, but I’m so thankful for such a sweet man and all his hard work on this proposal.

We are so excited to get married and anxious to see what our future holds! Since we’re still in quarantine mode here in Los Angeles, we won’t be setting a wedding date until we see how things shape out. Stay tuned for the proposal video and tons of wedding planning to come.

Over the weekend I chopped off my hair! My hair was past my butt and it was time for a big cut. We ended up cutting a foot off and my hair still looks long. At first I was scared to cut too much off but as soon as we started cutting I wanted to keep going. My hair feels so much lighter and looks so much fuller.

I wore this gorgeous Who What Wear red midi dress to church on Sunday and everyone was obsessed. I got so many compliments and everyone kept asking if it was a Rachel Parcell. This dress definitely has Rachel Parcell vibes but one-fourth the cost! This gorgeous dress is under $40 and available online and in store at Target. The material is amazing, the cut is flattering and overall just a stunning dress. I would totally wear this dress again to a holiday party or family dinner.

New Young Women’s Theme

What an amazing and uplifting conference weekend! I always enjoy listening to conference and this conference came with many changes. When President Nelson announced that there would be changed made to the youth programs I was intrigued. I am the Young Women’s President in my ward so I was all ears! When President Nelson stated we had to wait until the Women’s session of conference to hear the changes, I waited anxiously. President Nelson said the adjustments are intended to help young men and young women develop their sacred personal potential.

Sister Cordon who made the announcements said, “The First Presidency and the Twelve are united in endorsing these efforts to strengthen our youth.”  Sister Cordon also went on to said, “At the heart of all we do in Young Women is our desire to help you gain unshakable faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ and a sure knowledge of your divine identity as a daughter of God.”

The Young Women’s program in my ward is very small compared to wards like in Utah. A lot of the changes, such as combining classes wasn’t too shocking since we already do that due to the limited number of girls. One of the most shocking and exciting revelations was the new Young Women’s Theme! The new Young Women’s theme has some phrases from the previous theme but the new phrases that have been added focus on personal revelation, ministering, repentance and the temple.

I’ve created the above new theme in a Poster version to print for my Young Women’s room. You can now purchase it on my Etsy shop. If you want a custom color background please message me and I’ll be happy to alter.
